Event Coordinator/ Planner/ Manager – Part Time

Reports To: Maple Ski Ridge Management

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Age Requirement: 18+

Job Overview:

If you have exceptional organizational skills and love planning memorable events for a wide variety of clients, we would love to have you join our team as an event coordinator. As the Maple Ski Ridge Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for responding to all event inquiries in a timely manner, maintaining the availability calendar for events, and updating menus and prices as necessary. You will be the “go-to” person regarding events for clients, staff, and vendors and will coordinate both in-house events and customer booked events. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are vital in this role.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Coordinate and plan 3 or 4 in-house events annually.

  • Conduct timely and thorough responses to clients via phone and email communication.

  • Coordinate and plan customer events (such as weddings, birthday parties, and reunions).

  • Confirmation of event details such as menu, final guest count, floor plan, timeline, personal decor, etc. for each client.

  • Plan and organize events according to customer requirements, including researching and hiring vendors, booking venues, inviting participants, and creating signage.

  • Meet with clients, management, and staff as necessary to discuss and plan event specifications such as scope, format, budget, administrative details, and special requirements.

  • Negotiate contracts with venue personnel, caterers, hospitality staff, A/V providers, and other vendors to acquire necessary services and activities for events while meeting budgetary objectives.

  • Monitor and oversee events from preparation and set-up through teardown to ensure adherence to planned format, compliance with regulations, cooperation between vendors, resolution of issues, and overall satisfaction of participants and sponsors.

  • Perform post-event tasks promptly such as meeting with clients to ensure satisfaction, reviewing invoices and bills, approving payments, and documenting issues and resolutions.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma plus minimum three years event planning experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle client conflicts calmly and professionally.

  • Detail-oriented and reliable with good time-management skills.

  • Able to work well individually and in a group.

  • Strong computer skills: must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, google forms, google drive.
    Canva experience a plus.

Facilities Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Mountain Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Age Requirement: 18+

Job Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is in charge of performing on-going facility maintenance and completing repairs on buildings, grounds and equipment. Their duties include general landscaping, fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and identifying, planning and scheduling major repairs.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • General upkeep and minor repairs

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance.

  • Diagnose and repair broken assets

  • Keep hand tools, power tools, and supplies organized and clean

  • Performs landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming trees, and planting flowers.

  • Digs ditches and drainage systems for conduit.

  • Performs general machine maintenance, including oil changes.

  • Cuts and splits wood and stokes furnace.

  • Paints and stains indoors and outdoors as necessary.

  • Shovels and plows snow, and salts sidewalks and parking lots.

  • Maintains building systems and keeps the lodge in good working order.

  • Maintain accurate records of performed maintenance tasks

  • Follow safety precautions and adhere to the set schedule

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.

  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.

  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.

  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.

  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.

  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.

  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.

 

Training Requirements:

Must attend all assigned training days. (Paid)

Camp Counselor

Reports To: Summer Camp Director

Age Requirement: 16+

 

Job Overview:

Camp Maple is a 10 week day camp at Maple Ski Ridge in Schenectady, NY. Our counselors lead campers in field games, arts & crafts, nature walks, and have tons of fun! We are looking for responsible, fun loving teens and young adults to guide and mentor our campers.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Follow all camp rules and regulations

  • Organize team games such as soccer, softball, kickball and other field games, explaining the rules and acting as referee or umpire throughout the game

  • Leading activities such as arts and crafts, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas

  • Supervise all aspects of the campers’ day

  • Assist in teaching or leading activities as assigned

  • Set a good example for campers and others by demonstrating cleanliness, punctuality, sharing and good sportsmanship

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated.

  • Enjoy working outdoors.

  • Enjoys working with children.

 

Training Requirements:

  • Must attend all assigned training days before the season starts. (Paid)
