Kitchen Staff

Reports To: Kitchen Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Age Requirement: 16+

Hours: Part-time or Full Time, Seasonal

Pay Rate: $15/hour


Job Overview:

Responsible for serving customers quality food products with fast, friendly service, and maintaining the kitchen in a clean and safe manner by performing the following duties:


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct water test daily upon opening and record results.

  • Reads and prepares menu items as ordered by customers according to portion control and quality standards of the menu.

  • Follows specific recipe instructions to prepare menu items using basic kitchen equipment and preparatory utensils.

  • Retrieves ingredients and supplies from storage areas by lifting and carrying them to the appropriate area.

  • Notifies supervisor when supplies are low.

  • Unloads and verifies the accuracy of deliveries from vendors and places in appropriate storage areas by lifting and carrying boxes.

  • Stores  incoming food shipments properly in the storeroom, maintains the storeroom  in a neat, orderly manner, and ensures all food items are stored at the appropriate temperatures.

  • Operates cash register, including taking payment from customers and making accurate change.

  • Serves food and beverages to customers at the appropriate safe food temperatures.

  • Responsible for daily cleaning of the kitchen, including all grills, surfaces, dishes, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.

  • Conducts a major kitchen cleaning once each week, cleaning under all equipment, and cleaning the refrigerator.

  • Responsible for cleaning the restrooms daily, including sweeping and mopping the floors and cleaning the toilets and sinks.

  • Cleans the lodge by clearing and wiping down tables, sweeping, and cleaning the floors as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to properly handle a knife and other cutting implements (18+)

  • Prior use of kitchen equipment such as a grill (16+) or fryer (18+) is recommended but not required.

  • ServSafe certification is a plus but not required.

Training Requirements:

  • Must attend all assigned training days before the season starts. (Paid)
