Discipline Policy
To assure all campers have the best experience possible while at camp this summer, we expect all participants to follow Camp Maple Discipline Policy. These rules serve as guidelines and are established to promote safety and fun for all.
Camp Maple Camper Expectations
1. Listen to staff
2. Follow directions
3. Make safe choices
4. Respect yourself, others, and camp
5. Be kind to yourself and others
If a camper fails to follow the Camper Expectations, they will be subject to the following “Three Step Warning System”. Continual failure to comply with “Camper Expectations” can result in suspension or expulsion.
Three step warning system:
Step 1: Behavior Reset If a camper is consistently having difficulty following the camper expectations after verbal reminders, we may use a time-out break from camp activities to help the camper adjust their behavior. A note will be sent home indicating that the camper was on Step 1 that day.
Step 2: Formal Warning If the issue continues, we will have a more direct conversation with the camper and their parents. Any incidents will be documented, including information provided by any staff members involved. A Level 2 write up will be sent home and parents will be addressed on the same day. A plan to improve the behavior will be discussed and put into place.
Step 3: Final Action If the behavior does not improve—or if a serious issue occurs—further action will be taken. This could include removal from an activity, suspension, or dismissal from camp.
Expulsion Policy
Camp Maple reserves the right to suspend or expel a camper at the discretion of the Camp Directors or Owners. Expulsion is considered a last resort and is used only when necessary to protect the safety and well-being of campers and staff. Please note that no refunds will be issued in the event of expulsion.
An expulsion applies to the full summer season and may impact eligibility for future Camp Maple enrollment. If expulsion occurs, a detailed summary outlining the behaviors and incidents leading to this decision will be provided.
Acknowledgment of Camp Expectations
Please review camp expectations with your camper prior to the start of the season. Camp Maple and Maple Ski Ridge maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying, violence, or any behavior that compromises the safety of others.
By registering for camp, you acknowledge and agree to the Discipline Policy and confirm that your camper will follow all “Camper Expectations” throughout the season.
