| New York State Law requires you to know and observer Article
18 of the General Obligations Law. |
- Never Ski in any area not designated for skiing.
- Never ski beyond your limits or ability to overcome
variations in slope, trail configurations and surface or subsurface
conditions which may be caused or altered by weather, slope or
trail maintenance work by the ski area operator, or skier use.
- Always follow the directions of the ski area
operator.
- Always stay in constant control of speed and
course so you can avoid striking plainly visible or clearly marked
obstacles, and other skiers and passengers on surface operating
ski lifts.
- Throughout the ski day, familiarize yourself
with posted information before skiing any slope or trail, including
all the information posted on the ski area's Trail Information
Board(s).
- Never cross the uphill track of any surface lift,
except at points clearly designated by the ski area.
- Never leave the scene of any accident resulting
in personal injury to another skier until such time as a representative
of the ski area operator arrives, except for the purpose of summoning
aid, and then identify yourself.
- Never overtake another skier in a way that you
might strike the skier being overtaken and always yield the right-of-way
to the skier being overtaken.
- Do not stop on any slope or trail where you might
cause a collision with other skiers or vehicles.
- Always yield to other skiers when entering a
trail or starting downhill.
- Always wear retention straps or other devices
to prevent runaway skis or snowboard skis.
- Report any personal injury to the ski area operator's
office before leaving the ski area.
- Never remove, deface, alter or damage signs or
warning devices for your safety and the safety of other skiers.
- Skiers shall have the following additional duties
to enable them to make informed decisions as to the advisability
of their participation in the sport:
a) To seek out and read, review and understand, in advance of
skiing, the "WARNING TO SKIERS" where tickets are sold,
and
b) To obtain such education in the sport of skiing as the individual
skier shall deem appropriate to his or her level of ability, including
the familiarization with skills and duties necessary to reduce
the risk of injury in such sport.

Violation of this code can lead to loss of lift ticket without warning
and without refund.
